'All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights'
To mark Human Right's Day 2020 Max Richter's Voices, a piece inspired by the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, is presented in a new version, conceived during lockdown, performed from the BBC's Maida Vale Studios.
The programme begins with a performance of Max Richter's Infra, a musical response to the London terror attacks in 2005.
This broadcast, in partnership with the EBU, will be heard across Europe and by global audiences in Australia, Canada, and the United States.
Voices will be performed by Sheila Atim (narrator), Grace Davidson (soprano), Viktoria Mullova (violinist), members of Tenebrae, Max Richter on keyboards, and the Max Richter Ensemble conducted by Robert Ziegler.
There will also be an interview with Max Richter and his creative partner Yulia Mahr (pictured)
