Woodkid is the stage name of acclaimed French video director Yoann Lemoine - widely regarded as one of the most creative and exciting artists working in contemporary music. Legend has it that Richie Havens passed Yoann a banjo one day during a video shoot, and from that moment the Woodkid persona was born.
The conceptual album The Golden Age is filled with what Woodkid terms “symphonic pop”, with soaring orchestral strings interspersed with demanding percussion beats, trumpet and organ and his distinctive lyrics.
Having experienced his astounding, and multiple Grammy-nominated, creativity behind the camera, the stage is set for these Woodkid shows to be a once-in-a-lifetime audiovisual spectacular.
