THREADS : Children's Hospitals Performance

Serious have worked in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Arts Team, and rapper, beatboxer, theatre maker & spoken word artist Testament to create a new 30 minute music and theatrical performance for patients in hospital aged 12 to 18. This is now touring to other children’s hospitals across England.

Testament spent time at Great Ormond Street meeting with the young people in a series of consultation and music making sessions - everything from beatboxing to poetry writing and sampling vocals, while asking patients to share stories.

Drawing on stories collected within the hospital community, Testament wrote the performance, which explores the interweaving stories of inter-dimensional beings, rock bands and a super villain.

Performed by Testament and his accompanying musician Drew Archie, THREADS draws on beatbox and freestyle rap, along with interactive elements.
