Alice Zawadzki: Families and the Stories They Tell

Jamie Cullum called her 'uncategorisable, beautiful - a real force to be reckoned with' and The Guardian hailed her as 'a genuine original'. Vocalist, violinist, songwriter, composer and improviser Alice Zawadzki draws together influences, from her early exposure to New Orleans soul and gospel, a classical training and an exploration of world and improvised music, with storytelling always at the heart of her performances and compositions.

Inside her family, her grandfather drew comic strips for a living, while haunting the docks of London and sketching the working lives of the people he saw. These pictures and their stories are the starting point for a new show about families and the stories they tell

You can book your free ticket here. Tickets guarantee a space until 7:15PM, at which point we will also be accepting walk ins at the door, so we recommend booking your free tickets and arriving before 7:15PM to avoid disappointment. There will be a mix of unreserved standing and seating. Performance begins at 7.30pm

The series Live at the Silver Building is three nights of free world-class music programmed by Serious.

The other concerts will see performances from guitarist Justin Adams and gimbri player Mohamed Errebbaa, and singer-songwriter and guitarist Rosie Frater-Taylor. And don’t miss Soho Radio’s Max Reinhardt’s sessions at the Good Hotel bar, inviting musicians such as Camilla George and Arun Ghosh to join him as he blends beats and live music
