Nothing short of legendary, Patti Smith ranks amongst the most ambitious, unconventional, and inspiring rock and rollers of all time. Patti's unapologetic and iconic New Yorker identity makes her a sure-fire rebel, and no doubt, the 'Godmother of Punk'.

From seasoned busker and street poet/performer beginnings, Smith launched to fame with debut album Horses, followed by the timeless Because the Night and Easter, full to the brim with post-punk anger and incredible song writing.

Besides being a musician, performer and writer, Smith is also an accomplished visual artist. Her multi-faceted creativity is captured in her unforgettable memoirs Just Kids and M Train.

Fusing rock and poetry with complete command of her stage, Patti's music has firmly held on to its timelessness. When Patti Smith sings, people listen.

/ Relive some of her greatest hits in latest release Live At Electric Lady here

Nadine Shah's critically acclaimed, and Mercury-nominated, album Holiday Destination saw her at her most political yet and continues to speak out for causes she believes strongly in in her brooding and jazz-kissed indie rock. Her most recent album Kitchen Sink continues her trademark social commentary.

/ Sample her impeccable lyricism in the music video for Ladies For Babies (Goats For Love) here

SPELLLING's familiar bewitching vocal style emphasizes the theatrical and folkloric themes of her song writing. Her 2021 album Turning Wheel is nothing short of evolution for the artist, branching out from her primarily synth-based sound on a magical, grand and genre-less adventure. A very rare UK appearance from a much-awaited artist

/ Watch her live performance on KEXP here

A refreshingly frank storyteller with an up-to-date indie-rock sound, Connie Constance makes music that accurately reflects herself, and defies simple classification

/ Watch her latest music video for single ‘Kids Like Us’ here

Praised highly for her debut release, NTS presenter Nabihah fuses electronic soundscapes with reverb drenched vocals to create a unique and spellbinding take on indie music

/ Check out her captivating soundscapes and stage presence in her live performance at the V&A here

(DJ set)
Singer songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and one of 6Music’s most played artists, Rosie will be creating a special DJ set for Higher Ground with a range of music and soundscapes that she finds inspirational.

Rosie has worked with Little Simz, Hot Chip and more, recently collaborating with long time friend, composer, and pianist Duval Timothy on their joint album 'Son' - inspired by their combined love of avant-garde choral pieces.

The singer, songwriter and guitarist blurs the lines between jazz, folk, pop and soul.
Think Joni Mitchell meets Pat Metheny, Lewis Taylor teams up with Emily King or a female version of John Mayer.

Rising through the ranks of Tomorrow’s Warriors, NYJO, the Royal Academy of Music and workshops at the Roundhouse, she eventually become her self-produced debut album ‘On My Mind’ which garnered praise from BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson “genuinely exceptional”, BBC Radio 1’s Abbie McCarthy “complex, jazzy, smooth, delicate”, songstress Becca Stevens “badass”, with Jazzwise Magazine declaring her “one to watch”.

The London selector plays jazz, psych rock and assorted oddities as a staple of NTS, Brilliant Corners, and Resident Advisor sounds, jumping between different countries, decades, and tempos seeking the magic in music to cultivate a vibe with jazzy cuts and smoked-out guitar jams.

Cellist, and singer-songwriter whose music confronts difference - as a mixed-race artist whose childhood was split across the globe, Midori fuels her music not just with a distinct sonic identity but a message tackling what it means to be a young woman of her heritage, making art.

Her recent concept EP 'See Touch Kick and Sweat' gained features from Podcart, Bandcamp Weekly, RGM Magazine, a live performance on BBC Radio London, a sold-out headline at the Green Note and Jazz FM Late Night Track of the Week.
As a creative collaborator, Midori has worked with Patrick Watson, Alex Hitchcock, Ex:Re, Soumik Datta, and on productions at the Royal Court Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

'What makes Midori stand out from the crowd is her breathtaking songwriting’
(RGM Magazine)

Harpist Marysia Osu (of Levitation Orchestra) will bring the sonic waves for our Jazz Yoga sessions, perfectly complementing the flow and practice by building original ambient soundscapes combining harp and beats.

Join the yoga sessions or come for a chill-out break.

A programme of indoor workshops will be announced next month, all accompanied by fully stocked bars and delicious food stalls - Higher Ground will deliver a special day out
