To mark the release of her new album Poem 1, acclaimed experimental vocalist and composer Ana Roxanne presents a special in-the-round performance at the ICA. This intimate, immersive one-off concert will debut material from the record live in London for the first time.

“I wanted to travel / Home into somewhere,” Ana Roxanne breathes across an eerie, suspended drone on 'The Age of Innocence'. “I wanted to try / And go very far.” These opening lines from Poem 1 reintroduce an artist in a markedly different phase of her life than when her debut, Because of a Flower, emerged nearly six years ago.

Now heartbroken and reflective, Roxanne traces the transformations that followed with a new sense of boldness. Her voice is laid bare - vulnerable, immediate and alive - no longer obscured by tape noise or dissolved into layered electroacoustic textures. Across Poem 1, she leans into a more direct, classical approach to songwriting, using sparse instrumentation to frame and elevate her exposed vocal presence.
