Piney has earned her indie-rock stripes, having released 6 studio albums, she's working on a 7th. Each album has a distinct new flavour as she has morphed and evolved over the years. Starting out as a quirky, electro-pop chanteuse, her debut album 'Peakahokahoo' was recorded with A Scholar & a Physician and they toured the UK and Europe with Erasure. She then established a neo-Nashville sound, the press hailing her "the indie Dolly Parton" making two albums 'Hold Yer Horses' and 'Jesus Wept' with The Piney Gir Country Roadshow. She then married the two genres with her album 'The Yearling', heartfelt folktronica at it's best.
Moving on to a California 60s retro-style with 'Geronimo!'. Piney and her band went to LA to work with Rob Campanella (The Brian Jonestown Massacre), Brian Wilson's percussionist Nelson Bragg and a brass player from Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Finally the indie-pop record 'mR. hYDE'S wILD rIDE' was recorded with Andy Ramsay from Stereolab and members of Gaz Coombes' and Emliana Torrini's band.
Piney has toured the UK and Europe extensively playing big festivals (such as Glastonbury and Bestival), and small stages too: toilet venues, nightclubs, gay bars, art galleries, theatres, churches and pop-up shops. She's played CMJ, SXSW and the Mountain Stage for NPR, having toured America supporting Gaz Coombes in 2016!
