Currently completing a PhD in composition at the University of York, James Mainwaring’s work integrates composition and improvisation using acoustic and electronic instrumentation. He is involved in a number of performance projects including the Mercury, Mobo and Jazz FM award nominated Roller Trio, and his own quartet which features Matthew Bourne (piano), Mick Bardon (bass) and Joost Hendrickx (drums), will release their debut album in 2014.
