Acclaimed Irish folk artist Lisa O’Neill comes to this beautiful church setting for an evening of raw, true folk songs.

Heard A Long Gone Song
, her first album for Rough Trade imprint River Lea, is a collection of traditional material interspersed with her own. The sense of ownership Lisa imbues in these old songs, coupled with the immutability of her chosen subjects makes it hard to tell which is which. Tackling songs passed through generations, some mixed with political messages giving a voice to a community, or dark tales of the past, Lisa performs all with ease.

  • ‘ Raw and unvarnished folk. Uncompromising, stunning, soul-shaking stuff ’
    (★★★★★ Guardian)
  • ‘ As beautiful as it gets. You will be drawn into an authentic, sometimes otherworldly, sense of place, time, and tradition. O’Neill calmly but decisively stakes her claim as a mould-breaker ’
    (★★★★ Irish Times)
  • ‘ A mix of thoroughly captivating self-written and traditional songs. Her performances are every bit as eclectic as they are authentic ’
    (Folk Radio)

Lisa was nominated for four BBC Radio 2 Folk Music Awards this year:

Folk Singer of the Year

Best Traditional Track 'Factory Girl' featuring Radie Peat

Best Original Track 'Blackbird'
