K-Music: Kiha & The Faces + Yi Sung Yol
275 Pentonville Road, Kings Cross
Two of Korea's best underground bands are united on the Scala stage as part of the K-Music 2013 Festival.
The night features Yi Sung Yol, a terrific singer-songwriter whose music has featured in a string of Korean films, and Kiha & The Faces, a hugely popular band led by singer and composer Chang Kiha, who turns Korean into a natural language for off-centre rock lyrics.
At this show, Kimchi Cult, a popular food truck featuring a “mash-up of traditional Korean flavours and Western fast-food” will sell its kimchi burgers, bulgogi fries and Korean fried chicken at the Scala bar throughout the concert. The vendor took part in the Thames Festival in 2011, spreading kimchi love all over London with great success. With its current residence at The Black Heart in Camden, Kimchi Cult also operates in well-established venues including Kerb, King’s Cross.
