Drummer, composer and arranger Jonathan Silk has studied with world-renowned composers Vince Mendoza and Maria Schneider as well as receiving awards from Birmingham Jazz and BBC Radio Scotland. He runs a big band, among other large ensemble projects, while leading a sextet exploring his compositions in a different setting, incorporating electronics and grooves.
As a sideman, he has worked with many other bands including UK neo-soul outfit Trope and Richard Foote’s Young Pilgrims. He also works regularly with the Birmingham Jazz Orchestra and has performed with Soweto Kinch on his hip-hop theatre performance, The Legend Of Mike Smith.
