Ahmad Jamal

Ahmad Jamal is hailing  as one of the greatest living jazz musicians. Occupying a seminal place in the pantheon of jazz piano, as influential in his way as Jelly Roll Morton, Art Tatum or Thelonious Monk, he has remained an inspiration to successive generations since the early 50s – including the young Miles Davis.
Whether conjuring magical shapes from the standard repertoire, or exploring delicate-wrought original songs of his own, or creating beguiling solo lines over pulsating latin grooves, this is an artist who, in his eighth decade, continues to create music at the very highest level.  His latest recording Saturday Morning continues the remarkable level set by its predecessor Blue Moon
