Trumpeter, vocalist, composer and educator Abram Wilson (1973 – 2012) created many memorable projects: three award winning albums Jazz Warrior (2005), Ride! Ferris Wheel to the Modern Day Delta (2007) - a Jerwood Rising Star commission for the Cheltenham Jazz Festival and Life Paintings (2009); large scale performance works including Roll Jordan Roll, Philippa and Running with the Flame. He was also an amazing communicator whose enthusiasm for jazz and for musicians and audiences of all ages, won him much respect and many admirers.
